Field facts

Ivar Aasen is a substantial field in the northern part of the North Sea, approximately 175 km west of Karm√ły at a water depth of 110 metres.

The development is a stand-alone platform equipped with partial processing, water conditioning and injection. The development includes a production, drilling and quarters (PDQ) platform with a steel jacket. A separate jack-up rig was used for drilling and completion of the development wells. The platform is equipped for the tie-in of subsea templates from Hanz and other potential discoveries.

The development is coordinated with neighbouring field, Edvard Grieg. First-stage processing is carried out locally, but its hydrocarbons are transported through two pipelines to the Edvard Grieg platform for final processing and export onshore. Ivar Aassen also takes its power from Edvard Grieg.
